First of all I have to find the right wood. Then I let the wood speak to me as far as what goes inside it. Next I make the design for the peice and draw out the pattern that I will use. The next step is to layout the pattern on the glass that I will be using. I then cut the glass according to the pattern and grind each piece until it fits with the other pieces. Once all the pieces are ground down to fit, I use a copper foil and apply that to all the edges. I fit the pieces together in their final places and solder both sides. I place the finished glass work in the back of the finished wood piece and I use a silicon sealant to hold it in place.
I use Fedex for all my shipping needs. I surround all pieces with a layer of styrofoam and then bubble wrap. On larger pieces I add a thin piece of particle board on both sides for additional protection. I then create a cardboard box to ensure a tight and secure fit. Some of the pieces are not suitable for shipping due to size, weight, or unsupported glass outside the frame. Each item is insured for the purchased value.
